If you’re like me, you’ve thought that Compassion meant “feeling sorry for.” The Compassion Fest reframed that definition for me to: Caring deeply about another person or animal and taking action to correct the cause of suffering. The time spent with the people and documentaries was deeply moving and well worthwhile.
Ambitious in scope, thought provoking, inspiring conversations with an interesting cross section of the community and beyond. Looking forward to next year.
Compassion Fest was quintessential Carbondale with a new twist. I was impressed at the diversity of forums and the creativity of John, Aaron and I’m sure many others, to bring local and regional stories and opportunities to us in a way that inspired us to carry on, dig deeper and continue to help each other thrive.
